This is a very story-oriented game, to the point where there is actually no gameplay at all. I don't mind this, but it does mean the score I give it of 3/10 is based on the story alone.

My reasoning for that rating is that the plot of the game leaves the player hanging. To clarify, it proceeds at such a breakneck speed that the player is on the edge of their seat the whole time, sometimes even feeling like they are at knifepoint, being forced to make a decision. In fact, you get so hung up on those decisions that they dominate the entire game.

As far as characterization, it was overall not bad- except for Monika. It felt like Sayori should've been in a "hang in there" poster, Yuri was the smart one with all the cutting-edge writing techniques, and Natsuki made the player feel like they needed to crack their neck and get ready every time they saw her. Monika, on the other hand, was just Monika.

In conclusion, this is a game I'm going to file away in my memory so that it is forever coded into it- for future comparisons to other games that have a story that hangs on by a thread, or is so confusing it feels like a glitch in the matrix.
